A short description of Physics - Thunder Bay Campus
As a Physics major at Lakehead University, you will study the laws of nature and gain insight into the mysteries of our universe. Lakehead provides excellent access to equipment and facilities, giving you the opportunity to form a solid foundation in subjects such as electricity, optics including fibre optics, quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, electronics and computer hardware and software.
What is Physics - Thunder Bay Campus
You may opt to combine your Physics program with other fields of study: Applied Bio-Molecular Science, Computer Science Hardware, Mathematical Physics, Geology with Physics, and Education. The Co-op option provides you with the opportunity to work in industries that specialize in physics-based technologies such as semiconductor and communications industries, or with fields such as Medical Physics or Meterology.
Careers in Physics - Thunder Bay Campus
Physics graduates are often hired by companies in high-tech areas such as: fibre optics, robotics, 3D visualizations and modeling, hardware design, laser design and much more. Others have gone in to graduate work in specialized fields such as solid state physics, nuclear physics, astronomy, etc. or have entered cross disciplines such as geophysics, biophysics, chemical physics, engineering physics, medical physics or atmospheric physics.
