All About the Thunder Bay Campus
Lakehead University is a smaller, vibrant, personable, comprehensive research and teaching university that is technologically advanced and sensitive to student needs.
The Thunder Bay Campus
Thunder Bay is home to Lakehead University's main campus. Nestled on wooded land in the heart of the City of Thunder Bay, many of the University's buildings are grouped around Lake Tamblyn, with residence complexes along the banks of the McIntyre River. Underground tunnels connect many of the main, centralized buildings on campus, allowing for comfortable walking during inclement weather. Students and faculty take advantage of the paved trails leading into, out of, and around the campus by walking, jogging, rollerblading, bicycling, or, in the winter, cross-country skiing!
Small Class Sizes
Dynamic, modern, and committed to its foundations of being a student-centred University, Lakehead offers a wide range of personal educational opportunities. Small class sizes also allow you greater opportunity for hands-on experience in labs, and easier accessibility to a wide range of facilities and services.

Residence Life
As a student in Residence, you'll enjoy the convenience of on-campus living, with easy access to classes and study resources. But most of all, you'll build a strong personal and academic foundation that will carry you well beyond your years at university.
Residence is guaranteed to first-year students who accept their offer of admission before June 3, 2013. Our Residence Programmer, Resident Assistants (RAs), and House Presidents (HPs) plan activities throughout the school year including the hugely popular Orientation weekend, over 40 different sports and games, student socials, cultural excursions, and ski trips!
Residence is not just a place to keep you warm and dry, but your home away from home.
Rich Student Life
The Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU) gives you the chance to become involved in academic, political and social affairs. The Student Centre is the hub of social activity. Join one of over 50 clubs on campus, or start your own! Host your own show on LU Radio, our community-based campus radio station, or get involved with the student newspaper, the Argus.
