Why Lakehead University Orillia Campus?
As a student at the Lakehead University Orillia Campus, you will be a part of something new. In September 2010, we opened our brand new state-of-the-art campus at 500 University Avenue in Orillia. Our new academic building is the first step in the development of a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) university campus.
This makes Lakehead University-Orillia Campus the first university campus in North America to be entirely designed and built to this standard, as endorsed by the Canadian Green Council of Canada.
Our new academic building is environmentally friendly in every way possible; from the green roofing system, to geothermal energy source, water collection ponds, and much more.
The main floor features a large open learning commons, library, and lecture halls, along with classrooms and study rooms. Additional classrooms and administrative offices are located on the second floor. Two multipurpose science labs on the third floor will help round out the learning atmosphere in the inaugural building at our new campus.
You can enjoy learning in this beautiful new space and be part of the student body that helps create a new community of student life at this new campus. If you are adventurous and want to make a difference, Lakehead University - Orillia Campus is the right place for you!
We are a small campus community where we get to know you as a person and not a number (our students' favourite thing). With an average class size of 17 students, you will never be lost in the crowds. Smaller class sizes allow you to flourish as a student and develop great relationships with your professors.
If you want to make a difference, be a part of something new and make the most of your university experience, you need to be at Lakehead University in Orillia.

Student Life
As a Lakehead student, we also want you to enjoy yourself outside of the classroom. The best way to make the most of your experience, meet others and make a difference is to get involved in the campus community! Although we are a new campus, our student life continues to grow each and every year based on the interests of the student body. As a new student, you will be able to shape student life at our new campus by spearheading the development of new student clubs, associations, events and more!
